State Meet Boredom

Maybe Just a Little Glitz

Over the past few years, I have covered besides the state cross country and track championships, the swimming, basketball, wrestling and field hockey championships. At each of those other championships, the tournament is held at a site other than the standard high school auditorium and somewhere worthy of being called a state championship. Over and Under, School Busses

I have been a coach for track, cross country and swimming for many years and I still get just as excited going to a race as a coach or as a member of the media as I did when I was competing. The heart rate increases, the sweat flows and I get just as pumped stepping out of my truck now on race morning as I did stepping off the team bus whether I was in high school, college or just going to a road race or triathlon. Note to Parents, League Meets and More

I love cross country. The sport is so much more fun and interesting to cover than sitting at a track meet for eight hours on a weekend.  The weather is cooler, the scenery is much nicer and the meets are over much more quickly. Going to the Dogs

I’ve been organizing events for 18 years involving thousands of athletes and mainly for outdoor races. Most of these races have been in either extreme heat and humidity or rainy and cold conditions.

I was always surprised by the amount of people that thought it was necessary to bring their dogs to the races. It did not matter if it was 100 degrees outside and 1500 people entered in the race with twice that many spectators, people still felt that Fido really wanted to be in the park with them that day.

We’re Up and Running – Sort Of

We’re Up and Running – Sort Of

It has been a very hectic couple of weeks, but we are back out on our own.  We thank Digital Sports for the opportunity and good times, but we made a decision that we could better serve the running and multisport community by branching out.
